Terms of Service

By accessing or using RatingScope ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

RatingScope provides informational guidance about published VA disability rating criteria under 38 CFR Part 4. The Service helps veterans understand how published regulations describe rating percentages, evidence categories, and claim-process concepts in plain language.

RatingScope is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Department of Veterans Affairs. Use of the Service does not create any relationship between you and the VA, and does not constitute filing a claim.

RatingScope is free to use. A Donate button appears on select pages. Donations are entirely optional and are processed by GiveButter, a third-party payment platform. RatingScope does not process or store your payment information directly.

Donations do not unlock any feature, account tier, or benefit. Every feature on RatingScope is available whether or not you donate.

RatingScope is not currently a registered nonprofit organization, so donations are not tax-deductible. If that status changes in the future, this page will be updated to reflect it.

The Service is for informational purposes only. It is not legal advice, not medical advice, and not a substitute for representation by an accredited Veterans Service Officer, attorney, or claims agent. RatingScope does not predict, guarantee, or determine the outcome of any VA claim, does not make a VA decision, and does not guarantee any specific rating, approval, or benefit. Guidance is based on published criteria and structured facts you provide; missing or unclear information is treated as a documentation gap, not a negative finding.

By using RatingScope, you agree that you will not use any bot, crawler, scraper, spider, automated script, or AI/machine-learning data-collection process to access, copy, extract, reproduce, or create derivative works from any content on this site, in whole or in part, without our prior express written permission. This includes, without limitation:

• Bulk or systematic downloading of condition guides, percentage tables, criteria explanations, or methodology content • Using RatingScope's content to train, fine-tune, or evaluate any artificial intelligence or machine learning model • Republishing RatingScope's original explanatory text or content structure on any other site, application, or dataset

Permitted exception: automated access solely for standard search engine indexing by recognized, compliant crawlers (e.g., Googlebot, Bingbot) operating in accordance with our published robots.txt directives.

This is a condition of your agreement to use RatingScope. Violating it is a breach of these Terms, and we reserve the right to restrict your access and pursue available legal remedies for breach of contract and copyright infringement of our original content.

All original text, explanations, tools, design, and content on RatingScope (excluding quoted or cited government regulatory text, which remains in the public domain) are the property of RatingScope and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may view and use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial, informational purposes. No other use is permitted without prior express written permission.

You agree not to misrepresent your identity, interfere with the Service's operation, attempt to bypass any access or security control, or use the Service for any unlawful purpose.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. RATINGSCOPE DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE ERROR-FREE, UNINTERRUPTED, OR THAT ANY GUIDANCE WILL RESULT IN ANY PARTICULAR VA OUTCOME.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, RATINGSCOPE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
